Nissan Altima Door Wont Open From Inside Or Outside

Won t open from the outside so i have to open the passenger door then lean across and open the driver s door from the inside.

There is 2 black plastic pieces that one opens the door and the other one locks the door. I feel resistance on the handle and hear linkage moving on the inside. I unlock it and pull the inside or outside handle and it wont open like it is stuck in lock position.
